Cycling Breaks

Tallaght Cross is a great location when looking for a Cycling Break in Dublin so we have included some of our favourites:

1. Southside & Dodder Greenway

Cycle along Beaver Row towards Clonskeagh where the Dodder runs through the park between Clonskeagh Road and Milltown (opposite Riverview). Follow the designated cycle lane until you hit the traffic crossing, and then continue towards the Dropping Well and Bushy Park, Terenure.

Some Places of Interest:

Stillorgan Obelisk
The Priory
Pearse Museum
Dodder Greenway

Read more about Dodder Greenway Route that is under development.

The proposed Dodder Greenway is being developed to be a Greenway of international renown and to be on a par with the best greenways in the world. When complete it is envisaged to be over 17km long.

2. Grand Canal Greenway

While the canal is synonymous with lazy days and pints in The Barge, this flat stretch delineates Ballsbridge, Rathmines and Crumlin, even running as far as Lucan and Kildare. If it’s a lazy cycle you’re after with plenty of coffee and cake pit stops, then this track is ideal.

Some Places of Interest:

Grand Canal Basin
Nocturnal Wildlife Sensitive Lights
Thomas Omer’s Cottage
Corkagh Park
The Red Bridge
Adamstown

3. Phoenix Park

There is no better arena to dance the two wheeled dance than Dublin’s Phoenix Park. Stretching to over 1,700 acres and one of Europe’s largest urban parks, it represents a cyclist’s dream with its largely flat gradient and stunning views

Tallaght Cross Hotel is the perfect location for any Dublin break, leave your car in our secured car park and enjoy the fresh air and the stunning views Dublin has to offer.
